HTML Pilot Lab: Build Your First Web Page
Join South Shore technologist Dajuan “Duey” Matthews (A.S. in Web Development, Honors) for a hands‑on, beginner‑friendly HTML lab at Veterans New Beginnings in Auburn Gresham.
In this 2‑hour pilot workshop, you’ll get a gentle, practical introduction to HTML – the language that structures every website you visit. We’ll move step‑by‑step and focus on real understanding, not jargon.
By the end of the session, you will:
- Understand what HTML is and how tags work
- Know the basic structure of a page (, , )
- Have written your own simple web page with a title, heading, text, and links
- Opened it in a browser and seen how to change it yourself
No prior coding experience is required. If you can type and use a browser, you’re welcome.
This lab is especially for veterans, seniors, students, and community members on the South Side who want a first step into coding, web development, or building a personal site/portfolio.
