Explore the innovative artistry of H.T. Chen in a workshop Led by Dian Dong with members of H.T. Chen & Dancers and accompanied by Wayland Quintero. This is open to all ages and any dance level.

Dive into H.T. Chen’s unique choreographic style, which masterfully blends traditional Chinese dance with the expressive techniques of modern dance.

Through this immersive experience, you’ll discover the elegance and storytelling of Chinese dance, characterized by fluid gestures and intricate transitions. Combine these with the grounded movements and emotional intensity of modern dance to create dynamic and visually compelling choreography. Learn how Chen’s works explored themes of immigration, cultural identity, and resilience, drawing on his ability to merge the narrative clarity of Eastern traditions with the abstract expressiveness of Western styles.

Participants will also gain insights into Chen’s innovative choreographic narrative that highlights the interplay between cultures. You’ll explore shifts in rhythm, energy, and storytelling.
