Join us to learn more about Horizon Science Academy (HSA), an award winning, free, non-selective, and high-quality STEM-focused public charter school. HSA Cedar Rapids will be ready to serve 185 K-5 students in fall of 2026, and will grow over the years to offer K-12th grade programming.

Charter schools in Iowa are public schools operated independently of traditional public school districts. Although charters are allowed flexibility with elements of their curriculum model and school design, charters are accountable to state regulations and academic expectations.
Since 2021, charter schools have blossomed across Iowa. HSA Cedar Rapids joins HSA Davenport and HSA Des Moines as part of the award-winning Concept Schools charter school network, which currently operates 41 schools across seven states.
