The Inaugural HQ’s Strongest Man takes place at HQ on Sunday 23rd March 2025, and it’s going to be a day of pure strength, grit, and glory.
HQ's Strongest Woman will be announced soon as I want this competition to be run on a separate day.
With 5 intense categories, Men's Beginners, Men's Novice, Men's Intermediates, Men's Masters and due to popular demand Men's Opens.
If you think you’ve got what it takes, there’s only one way to prove it.
Will you be the first ever athlete to claim the title of HQ’s Strongest Man.

Event 1:
Car Squats – 1 Minute for Max Reps.
Squat bar fixed at 1.2 metres
Get ready to feel your legs burn like never before.
You'll be squatting the weight of a car until your body gives out.
Men’s Beginners: 145kg
Men’s Novice: 195kg
Men’s Intermediates: 225kg
Men's opens: 300kg
Event 2:
Conans Wheel – Max Rotations
How many Rotations on the Wheel of Death can you do? Your whole body will be trembling, your lungs burning! Your legs screaming! Who will come out on top!
Men’s Beginners: 150kg
Men’s Novice: 170kg
Men’s Intermediates: 180kg
Men's Opens: 200kg
Event 3:
Holle Circus Dumbbell Press – Points for Reps/1 Minute Max Time
Britain’s Strongest Man style.
For each rep, the dumbbell starts on the ground.
Heavier dumbbells score higher points.
Show us what you’ve got.
Men’s Beginners: 30kg (1 point) / 40kg (3 points)
Men’s Novice: 40kg (1 point) / 50kg (3 points)
Men’s Intermediates: 50kg (1 point) / 64kg (3 points)
Men's Opens: 70kg (1 point) 85kg (3 Points)
Event 4:
Power Stairs – 3 Brutal Steps each implement.
Move Increasing weights up three massive steps.
Legs screaming? lungs Burning? Good!
Men’s Beginners: 80kg / 100kg / 120kg
Men’s Novice: 100kg / 120kg / 140kg
Men’s Intermediates: 120kg / 140kg / 160kg
Men's Opens: 160kg/180kg/200kg
Event 5:
Yoke Walks (Head to Head)
The Ultimate test of strength and endurance.
Who can Walk the Infamous Yoke 40 metres?
This is where winners are born!
Simple as that.

Men’s Novice: 223kg
Men’s Intermediate's: 243kg
Men's Opens: 283kg

As it's the inaugural HQ's strongest man we have a Bonus event and a world record attempt to be held at HQ.
The legend that is Chris Jenkins is going for the u90 World Axle Clean and Press record which currently stands at 168kg!
