Ever wonder how costumes, props and masks are made to be so realistic in movies and TV? Did you know when the film industry started, there was no costume department? Actors had to bring their own costumes from home to be part of theatre. Nowadays there are dedicated large costume prop departments for movie and TV studios. If your curious to learn more on how they make those costumes, props and masks, Nerd Mafia will be teaching the ins and outs of costume prop and mask making. One of the speaker from Nerd Mafia works for Disney in the prop mask making department. The other speaker from Nerd Mafia is an expert seamstress making amazing costumes.
This will be a hands on workshop on Saturday April 20th from 11am to 2pm, with lunch included. Each child attending will be making part of a costume. Every child will bring their own 2 yards of fabric, best Knit, Lycra or spandex material. If your child knows how to use a sewing machine and has their own, can bring it. Only children 7yo and above can attend.
$10 per child $5 per adult to reserve your spot. Funds will be used for supplies for costume making and lunch. All funds are not refundable. If you cannot attend, you must find someone to take your place. After you sign up, you must send funds within 3 days to hold your spot or your space will be given to those on waitlist.
