Our 4th Annual fundraiser for Zeus' Rescues, *HOWL-O-WEENIE,* is BACK on SATURDAY OCT. 25th, 3-5PM at DAT DOG MAGAZINE. This is THE Dog Costume Contest of the Season; THE place to see fabulous dogs and to be seen looking fabulous! Dress up your pup and grab the friends & fam for good times, great photo ops, and hopefully plenty of SCRIM COSTUMES!!! Is your dog *whining* to strut their stuff on our *dogwalk*? There are 2 WAYS TO REGISTER THIS YEAR!
1. IN-PERSON REGISTRATION to participate starts at noon at Dat Dog Magazine and ends at 3pm. To register, you MUST make a donation of either pet products or money to Zeus' Rescues.
2. ONLINE PRE-REGISTRATION: A link will soon be provided to register on our website, www.datdog.com. Fill in the details on the form, then submit a donation of no less than $10 to Zeus' Rescues for registration to be valid. The online pre-registration link will be available until October 24th.
The ZEUS' DONATION DRIVE will be happening ALL DAY at Dat Dog Magazine, so stop by any time with food, old towels, leashes, toys or anything that could help out their rescue pups and kitties!
THE RUNWAY SHOW WILL KICK OFF AROUND 3:30pm (after all of our participants have gotten settled). Costume contest categories include the following. The prizes are always fun and the validation is even better!
-BEST COUPLE (this is one dog + one human presenting together, both in costume)
-BEST FAMILY (this is more than one dog + more than one human presenting together, all in costume)
-BEST GROUP (this is more than one dog presenting together, all in costume)
-BEST SOLO (this is for one dog in costume, presenting alone)
-BEST IN SHOW (this is for the best costume of all, for either dogs or dogs + humans)
*NEW CATEGORY: "CROWD FAVORITE". Award will go to the CROWD FAVORITE this year! This is the pup (or group of pups) who gets the most applause and ooh's and ahh's from the crowd.
We will have a stellar panel of local artists, costumers and designers to judge, so you know the winning costumes will actually be good. Judges on this expert panel to be announced SOON!
Going on FOUR YEARS of furry, fun-for-everyone vibes, HOWL-O-WEENIE is the best way to spend a Saturday afternoon before Halloween. No one does Halloween like New Orleans, ESPECIALLY the dogs!!!
