My Ancestors Smile When We Swim
The Awakening Anthology
The event will highlight the vital role of Black artistry and the importance of diversity in sports, featuring a discussion on breaking barriers, fostering inclusion, and reclaiming spaces where Black excellence thrives. Guests will have the opportunity to meet Rhonda and Gia, as well as share reflections of their own experiences.
In addition, we will discuss these empowering books and explore the connection between Black history, literature, and aquatics. Atendees will also have an opportunity to share their stories of resilience, representation, and the unbreakable bond between identity and aquatics.
This is a celebration of heritage, empowerment, and the beauty of Black voices.
