If you’re someone who white knuckles it through the winter months, this offering is for you. You aren’t meant to feel happy, or content or peaceful ONLY when the sun shines, or when the “right” circumstances present themselves. We can rely on a dedicated yoga practice to help us find Contentment DESPITE circumstances. During this workshop you can expect some discussion around what winter means to you, a yoga practice to build some heat from the inside out, finishing with some poses that lean more restorative - embracing the nature of winter, which asks us to get comfortable with turning inward. You will leave with some new tools in your tool box to help you thrive until we turn our hearts toward spring. As the poet Jennifer Welwood says, “Each condition I flee from pursues me. Each condition I welcome transforms me and becomes itself transformed.” Jen is someone who enjoys winter! Which doesn’t mean a)it’s always easy or b)you’ll find her bundled up and flying down a ski hill! Jen has learned to not only appreciate, but to view as necessary, the reminder that Mother Nature gives us to slow down and tend the fires of home and heart. For Jen, embracing winter is about inviting balance into her life.
