About this Event

A special family friendly screening of fantasy film 'How to Train Your Dragon', part of our new 'Kids Flicks' series at the Beecroft Cinema Club.

"This is Berk. It’s 12 days north of Hopeless and a few degrees south of Freezing to Death. It’s located solidly on the Meridian of Misery. It’s been here for 7 generations, but every single building is new. We have fishing, hunting, and a charming view of the sunset. The only problems are the pests. You see, most places have mice or mosquitoes. We have—dragons!”

Beecroft Cinema Club presents 'Kid's Flicks', screening family friendly films, every half term and school holidays on the big screen at the Beecroft Art Gallery.

Join us at the Beecroft Art Gallery for our first 'Kid's Flick', Dreamworks' much loved animated classic 'How to Train Your Dragon' (2010), inspired by the children's book series of the name by Cressida Cowell. This screening is brought to you in collaboration with Southend Libraries' 'fantasy week'.

In a Viking village constantly under dragon attack, a clumsy boy named Hiccup, considered an unlikely hero, sets out to prove himself. He unexpectedly befriends a rare and powerful dragon, a Night Fury, and discovers that dragons might not the fearsome monsters he thought they were. As he forms a bond with 'Toothless' the Night Fury and learns more about dragons, Hiccup starts to challenge the traditions of his village. Can Hiccup and Toothless change the relationship between Vikings and dragons forever? Enduringly popular for its stunning visuals, beautiful soundtrack and heartwarming story, the film is enjoyed by all ages.

Doors open and refreshments will be available from 10:30am and the film will start promptly at 11am (there are no adverts). There is no allocated seating.

The film's run time is 98 minutes.

The film is rated 'U' and this screening is open to all ages.
