In this program we will cover the following modules-
Module #1: "The Game Plan- Awareness Before Buying a Food Business" which covers the industry rules for buying and selling businesses, how different businesses are bought and sold, and what happens when the lease period ends.
Module #2: "Getting The Money Right- What To Expect" which focuses on the finances of owning a cafe or restaurant business, including realistic timeframes for breaking even, how much investment is needed, projecting sales and calculating profits, and determining the actual value of an existing business.
Module #3: "Buying An Existing Business- what to and not pay for" which covers the things to watch out for when buying an existing cafe or restaurant, including the goodwill of the business, different concepts like WIWO, SAV, and training periods, and industry-standard cost percentages.
Module #4: "Developing a brand new Site - Should You Consider This?" which explores the benefits and costs of starting a new cafe or restaurant business from scratch, including negotiating with business brokers and landlords, preparing a proposal, and understanding the costs involved in setting up a new site.
Module #5: "Legal Stuff- Must Watch out for non-negotiable" which discusses the different types of business structures and how they apply to owning a cafe or restaurant, how the franchise model works.
Module #6: "The Lease (90% people go wrong here and quit)" which is focused on the lease agreement, including different types of leases and their pros and cons, identifying and avoiding dodgy leases, good leases vs. bad leases, and sample leases with explanations.
