Enid Graham's How to Save Ourselves follows a group of young volunteers at a struggling food distribution center who must confront personal biases, community challenges, and the effects of severe weather as they fight to help those in need. The play explores the epidemic of loneliness among today's youth and the transformative power of human connection in the face of adversity.
How to Save Ourselves is part of The Farm Theater's College Collaboration program which commissions an early-career playwright to write a new play to be produced by multiple universities throughout the year. The characters are written for college-aged actors and the plays deal with current issues facing young people. As a part of the College Collaboration, students from each school attended a workshop of the play with professional actors in NYC this past summer, and one student from each school will be invited to reprise their role in a reading for industry professionals in NYC later this year.
