How do you map the heavens? Working astronomers of ages past used star atlases to document star positions and arrange them into constellations. These ornate and beautiful books, many of which were exhibited in Out of This World and Further Out, trace how we’ve seen the sky across the centuries.
Join Vice President of Collections and Public Services Jason W. Dean, Curatorial Fellow Rebeca Escamilla, and Spencer Art Reference Library at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art Public Services Specialist Stephanie Lawrence for an interactive presentation of star atlases from the Linda Hall Library History of Science collection.
