About this Event
Doors open 5:00 pm, Workshop begins 5:30
co-sponsored by TCC Pride and Center for Poets & Writers
Whether it's writing an essay, creative nonfiction, or a Moth story, author John Paul Brammer has built his career on telling stories based on his experiences. One thing he’s learned, though, is that real life doesn't always, or even usually, follow a narrative format. In this workshop, JP will walk you through his next Moth story, and give you the tools you need to tell that one story from your life that you've always been itching to tell.
John Paul Brammer is an award-winning writer and artist from Lawton, Oklahoma, currently based in Brooklyn. His memoir-in-essays, ¡Hola Papi!, was published in 2021, and is based on his popular advice column of the same name. His bylines include The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Los Angeles Times. He now travels with the Moth as a storyteller, and is working on his second and third books. www.johnpaulbrammer.com
