Join Anna Jacobson as she launches her new memoir, How to Knit a Human, which explores Jacobson's mental health journey after experiencing psychosis and Electroconvulsive therapy at the age of twenty-three.

Her story is one of mystery, memory, and reclamation. This event will combine Jacobson's video art with a discussion about the book.

About the author:
Anna Jocobson is an award-winning writer and artist from Meanjin (Brisbane). Her poetry collection Amnesia Findings (UQP) won the 2018 Thomas Shapcott Poetry Prize. Anna’s second illustrated poetry collection, Anxious in a Sweet Store was published with Upswell in 2023. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Creative Writing from the Queensland University of Technology. Anna won the 2020 Nillumbik Prize for Contemporary Writing and the 2018 Queensland Premier’s Young Publishers and Writers Award. Her poetry chapbook The Last Postman (Vagabond Press, 2018) was published as part of the deciBel 3 series. She was a finalist in the Brisbane Portrait Prize, Blake Art Prize, Olive Cotton Award, and Marie Ellis OAM Prize for Drawing.
