What if learning Hungarian felt possible instead of overwhelming? This February, HOW TO HUNGARY is hosting an evening for anyone who has ever wanted to learn Hungarian, tried and stalled, or convinced themselves it might be impossible.
Finding Your Hungarian Voice brings together people who learned Hungarian as non-native speakers, all in very different ways. Not academics. Not perfectionists. Just people who arrived, struggled, adapted, and eventually found a way to make the language work in everyday life.
You’ll hear from Mark Downey, Frederik Cornelius, Andy Clark, and Ákos from Magyarize. They’ll talk honestly about how they learned, what slowed them down, what helped more than expected, and what they would do differently if they were starting again today.
This is not a language class. It’s a bilingual, story-led evening about what learning Hungarian looks like when you’re working, living, socialising, and dealing with daily life here.
After the panel, we’ll keep things relaxed and social. There’ll be time to chat with the speakers, meet others on a similar path, and try out a few words or phrases in a low-pressure setting. No forced exercises. No awkward icebreakers. Just conversation.
You’ll leave with:
- A clearer picture of how people really learn Hungarian
- Practical ideas you can use immediately
- A free Hungarian learning e-book
- A discount code for further learning resources
- New connections with people who understand exactly where you’re at
If Hungarian has ever felt out of reach, this evening won’t promise miracles. But it will show you what’s possible, and how others have found their way there.
