About this Event
In this presentation, Dr. Caitlin Powell, Chair of the Psychology Department at Thomas More University, discusses how we live in an increasingly global society where diversity can be experienced on multiple dimensions. You will discuss the value of empathetic listening, how to establish mutual respect, and how to use “meta-conversation” tools to diffuse tension and community.
This session will show you how to:
· Communicate across lines of differences
· How to engage in challenging conversations effectively
· How to set norms during group discussions and meetings
