About this Event
Cheryl Anderson has been the curator of the Tom Allen Butterfly House at Rotary Park since 2011. The House is operated by the nonprofit Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife (CCFW), which has supported the wildlife in Cape Coral for the past 22 years. Their focus has been the burrowing owl and the gopher tortoise, but they also support the eagles and all other wildlife in the Cape.
Cheryl has a BA from the University of Texas and has extensive experience in retail management. Her love of butterflies started at 8 years of age when she spent her summer with a butterfly net in hand. Cheryl owned a wild bird store in Texas where she spent much of her time raising bluebirds, purple martins, and hummingbirds. After moving to Florida and finding a lack of hummingbirds, she decided she would concentrate on what was here (rather than what was not): butterflies!
