Common Grace Aotearoa supports Christians to be an informed, loving and prophetic voice in the conversation about the status of the Treaty of Waitangi. We invite you to come together with like-minded people to consider what loving our neighbours might look like in the context of the Treaty Principles Bill. This year, more than 250 church groups around the country have done the course ‘Belonging in this Land: Treaty basics from a Christian perspective’. In September, more than 440 church leaders signed an open letter calling on Members of Parliament to stop the Treaty Principles Bill. Many people are now asking what next, in the lead up to the bill being introduced to Parliament.
Local church leaders will offer their reflections, and Common Grace team members will share how you can be involved in plans to gather submissions opposing the bill.
Simple dinner will be provided.
Please RSVP at tinyurl.com/treatyeventauckland.
