Houston Land Bank Development Day

Please join the Houston Land Bank on Friday, October 3, 2025, for our annual Development Day, a convening designed to accelerate affordable housing production and strengthen resilient building practices across Houston neighborhoods.

This year’s event will feature the HLB open builder procurement launch, highlighting the Finding Home Initiative and walking participants through the procurement process. The City of Houston Office of Business Opportunity (OBO) will also guide participants in becoming certified MWBEs.

The program will include:

• Overview of HLB programs such as the Traditional Home Program and the Finding Home initiative.
• Builder Procurement Overview: This section provides Clear guidance on applying to and participating in HLB’s Builder procurement to access HLB's below-market-rate land opportunities.

• FORTIFIED™ Insight Session – IBHS and Smart Home America will provide practical guidance on resilience standards and the FORTIFIED certification process for builders.

• Resilient Building Roundtable – A discussion with Fannie Mae focusing on aligning financing, design, and resilient features in home construction and rehabilitation to expand affordable housing development
• Financial Institutions & Partner Connection - Meet one-on-one with banks and lending partners at exhibitor tables. Explore financing options, development resources, and partnership opportunities to grow your business.
