About this Event
The Housing Matters Symposium celebrates our community's dedication to expanding housing opportunities for all. We believe in collaboration to overcome housing market challenges like rising costs and complex regulations. That's why we are bringing together researchers and advocates, developers, nonprofit leaders, local officials, and neighbors to explore solutions and build regional progress. Housing opportunity should be a competitive advantage for Greater Des Moines. We'll focus on local solutions and strategies to help every person and family find their ideal home here.
This year's keynote speaker Jenny Schuetz is a Senior Fellow at Brookings Metro, where her research focuses on improving housing and land use policies. An economist, author, and speaker, Dr. Schuetz has written extensively for academic and public audiences. Her recent book, , received coverage on Marketplace, The Ezra Klein Show, Slate, and Bloomberg CityLab.
