Dillard University's Office of Community Relations will host its sixteenth annual Housing, Health and Community Resources Fair on their campus in the Professionals Schools Building from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free, and the event is open to the public. Over 60 exhibitors will participate in the community event. Exhibitors representing health care services, housing contractors, realtors, home counseling agencies, medical and dental providers, banks, mortgage companies, property insurance, flood insurance, Medicaid and Medicare providers, home security, job training, and employment agencies, technology services, many more.
The event will also feature a free credit report for the 50 attendees who register, workshop sessions on basic grant writing, grants for first-time homebuyers, investment property financial assistance, smartphone class for senior citizens, certification class for women-owned businesses, minority businesses, SBA 8a, and free wellness screenings.
A financial readiness session, sponsored by The First Bank, will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the Georges Auditorium in room 115 featuring speakers, Mary Thomas from the National Real Estate Brokers Association and T. Denise Washington from the NID Housing Counseling Agency.
The event is co-sponsored by The First Bank, Hope Credit Union, BankPlus, Finance New Orleans, AARP, U.S. Small Business Administration, Healthy Blue Louisiana, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana and United Healthcare.
