Housepitality and Monarch are kicking off September with a couple of original and unique local artists who are guaranteed to light up the Housepit dance floor.

We've invited our old friend, William Wardlaw, from the As You Like It crew to jump-start the night. Over the years he's opened for a wide range of artists for us, including Sammy Dee, Adesse Versions, and Sishi Rösch. His insatiable take on dance music explores deeper, melodic sounds along with his appreciation for unpredictable rhythms — the perfect transition to our guest headliner.

Get ready to close out the night and go on a journey with a very special extended hybrid live set from Jordan Poling. Jordan sees himself as a vessel that transforms his experience into music for other people to relate to.

When Jordan moved to Brooklyn in 2008 he started working at the record shop halcyon that was started by Shaun Schwartz. Taimur Agha (of blkmarket) was the buyer at the time and he learned a lot from him as well as Erik Wise (Liondub) who was the bass music buyer. He was also fortunate to meet halcyon alum like Levon Vincent. Levon recommended him to work at the pressing plant Brooklyn Phono which was a great experience. At that time, the "House Music renaissance" in NY / Jersey was really kicking off. He really gravitated to that sound having been playing liquid drum and bass at parties like Konkrete Jungle.

Early on he started working with Fred P. He had a very big hand in shaping how Jordan approaches music as an artist. After meeting, they have been long-time collaborators and friends. Jordan also started working with Tin Man and released their collaboration as the first entry on his label, Division Point Industries.

During that time the club scene in NYC was not as vibrant as today. In 2010, there were a lot of clubs getting shut down and a lot of the events were happening in warehouses. Jordan was greatly influenced by The Bunker, blkmarket, Marcy Hotel, and many more that were starting to find their stride.

When asked about his hybrid set he says, "(it) provides the breadth of a DJ set and the depth of a live set. I can paint broad strokes while DJing and go really deep with the live stuff. I can do little layers and edit songs I’m playing. Let a high hat or kick ride, and be playful. It’s fun! It also feels like I am hearing everything for the first time with everyone in the room. I love that feeling of discovering something together with everyone."

Housepitality is thrilled to host these two diverse artists from our San Francisco electronic music scene. We strongly feel that during these difficult times it’s our responsibility to continue to provide a safe, clean, and comfortable space for our friends and patrons to dance, be together, and enjoy quality underground House Music. Safety comes first for us, that’s why we will only be allowing entrance to anyone who can show valid proof of their vaccination card.
