Safely dispose of your household hazardous waste every first Saturday of the month at 10430 Audie Ln, La Plata! This in-person event is your opportunity to clear out harmful materials from your home while protecting the environment.

What You Can Bring:
✔ Paints & Solvents – Oil-based paints, stains, varnishes
✔ Batteries – Lithium, rechargeable & automotive batteries
✔ Household Cleaners – Degreasers, pool chemicals, other cleaners
✔ Automotive Fluids – Motor oil, antifreeze, brake fluid
✔ Pesticides & Fertilizers – Herbicides, insecticides, lawn chemicals
✔ Fluorescent Bulbs – CFLs, tube lights
Items Not Accepted
- Latex paint (Latex Paint is not toxic and once solidified can be disposed of in your household trash)
- Alkaline batteries (these can be dispose of in your household trash)
- Ammunition
- Commercial hazardous waste
- Prescription and non-prescription drugs can be dropped off at a participating "Drug Take Back" Ph*rm*cy, the Charles County Sheriff's La Plata and Waldorf Stations, 24 hours a day and at the Charles County Sheriff's Bryans Road Station by appointment for safe disposal. Liquids or syringes will not be accepted).
Our team will be on hand to help you unload your items and answer any questions about proper disposal. Let’s work together to declutter your home and protect the planet!
