It happens once a year…Household Hazardous Waste Day! The Town of Danvers will host its annual Household Hazardous Waste Day on Saturday, November 15, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Danvers High School Parking Lot, located at 60 Cabot Rd. This annual event is your chance to safely clear out those old paints, cleaners, and chemicals — and it’s FREE for Danvers residents!
This is a drop-off event only — there will be no curbside pickup. Simply load your car, drive up, and pop your trunk — it’s that easy! Trident Environmental Group will be on-site to assist with collection and disposal. Non-residents may participate for a fee and must contact [email protected] for pricing and payment information. Please note commercial waste and vehicles will not be accepted.
Accepted materials include:
• Chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and pool chemicals
• Antifreeze, waste oil (up to 5 gallons), and gasoline
• Household and drain cleaners
• Oil-based paints and stains
For a complete list of accepted materials, visit the Household Hazardous Waste page on the Town website at https://www.danversma.gov/808/Household-Hazardous-Waste-HHW.
Items NOT accepted at this event:
• Propane tanks, NiCad or lithium batteries, and fluorescent bulbs (these can be dropped off at the Transfer Station during regular business hours)
• Electronics (collected curbside with a bulk item sticker or during Zero Waste Recycling Events)
• NO Latex paint – residents should dry it out with kitty litter or paint hardener, then place it with regular trash or bring it to the Transfer Station during normal hours
Please be prepared to show your driver’s license (identification). Trident Environmental Group and DPW staff will direct residents during the event. Please place items in your car trunk, SUV or van hatch, or truck bed ONLY. No items will be taken from the passenger section. Residents must remain in their vehicles at all times.

If you have questions, please contact the DPW at 978-777-0001 x3011.
