Public Works is set to host a Household Hazardous Waste event on Saturday, March 15, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., at 1850 W. Price Blvd., our Public Works facility. Residents can drop off any of the included hazardous waste items, free of charge.The items included:
Pool chemicals
Automotive products
Pesticides
Fluorescent bulbs
Paint and paint solvents
Chemical cleaning products
Sharps (place in rigid, puncture resistant, leak proof container)
Unwanted medications
Adhesives & glues
Fertilizers
Household fire extinguishers and smoke alarms
Propane cylinders (BBQ size)
Tires
Items not allowed:
Bulk items
Televisions
Appliances
Ammunition
Fireworks or flares
Recyclables
Garbage
Don't forget - you can always drop-off unwanted medication at the North Port Police Department and sharps at any North Port Fire Rescue station.
