Del Norte Household Hazardous Waste Event September 25th
The Annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event will be held on Saturday September 25th at the Del Norte County Transfer Station. This is the one time Del Norte County households can dispose of their pesticides, herbicides, poisons, cleaners, aerosols, thinners, solvents, as well as photographic or pool chemicals, outdated medicines, and cosmetics.
Tedd Ward, Director for the Del Norte Solid Waste Management Authority said, “This popular community event is the best time for Del Norte County households to get rid of those hazardous materials that we don’t accept every day.” Ward said that the Authority has established convenient opportunities to recycle the most common household hazardous wastes, including used motor oil, oil filters, antifreeze, car batteries, all non-aerosol paints, stains, and varnishes in sealed containers with the original label, household batteries, residential fluorescent bulbs, televisions, home generated sharps, and fats oils and greases.
This event will be free to Del Norte County households, and it will be held from 9 AM to 2 PM on Saturday, September 25th at the Del Norte County Transfer Station off Elk Valley Road in Crescent City. For more information, call the Del Norte Solid Waste Management Authority at 465-1100.
