On May 4, CEF will host a march, HOUSE US NOW! with co-sponsors and supporters joining in solidarity. The march will commence from Peace and Justice Plaza to Hargraves Community Center. The primary demand of the event is to secure homes for low-income, fixed-income, and no-income community members earning less than 30% of the Area Median Income (AMI) across Orange and Durham Counties.
It aims to foster a sense of community among participants. Additionally, the march serves as the inaugural gathering of the Tenants Shout Out! Union (TSOU). This union is formed to collectively advocate for improved housing conditions and to facilitate mutual education on tenants' rights.
The event will offer various amenities such as food, haircuts, and music, provided by DJ O!.
