The program includes the evocative “Torres Bermeja” from Isaac Albéniz’s Piezas Características Op. 92, capturing the essence of Andalusian flamenco. You’ll also experience “Malagueña” from España op. 165, a piece full of intricate, passionate gestures that is typical in Albéniz's compositions and Spanish classical music. The haunting beauty of “Evocaciones” by Anton García Abril offers a window into the soul of modern Spain, blending folk influences with evocative, contemporary sounds. Then, Federico Mompou’s Suite Compostelana transports us to the Pilgrim’s Road to Santiago, where the stillness of the Spanish countryside meets the echo of centuries-old traditions. South American composers take the stage with Agustín Barrios’ poignant “Contemplación”, a piece as serene and meditative as its name suggests. Alexandre Tansman’s famous “Cavatina” will stir the heart with its gentle, joyful and lyrical beauty, while Gentil Montaña’s “Suite Colombiana No. 2” will bring a lively and rhythmic flair, drawing from the Colombian folk music traditions. With each note, you’ll explore history and culture through the classical guitar, all within the warm setting of Bill and Libby’s home.
Limited seating for 50 guests in a lovely home with a performance space and comfortable seating. The performance will begin at 6pm and will be followed by drinks, dinner (provided) and a chance to mingle.
