Organised at the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Brussels, this performance will mark the year in which Nova Gorica and Gorizia hold the title of European Capital of Culture 2025 – GO! Borderless. The project is being developed in collaboration with 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗷 𝗞𝗲𝗷ž𝗮𝗿, the artistic collective 𝗣𝗲𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗽𝗮𝗵, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗲 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗟𝗷𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗷𝗮𝗻𝗮.𝘏𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘉𝘰𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘰 is a project that continues to evolve, performed in different contexts with changing groups of artists. It began as an ode to dance — an exploration of learning from dance itself, rather than learning how to dance. In this new edition, members of the ballet ensemble of the SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana join former ballet dancers from an older generation, creating an intergenerational ensemble of performers aged 21 to 69. Their diverse physical presence and shared passion open up a dynamic space where the writing of dance becomes a force that challenges normalisation. For the Zagreb edition, House Bolero received the prestigious Croatian Actor Award (Nagrada Hrvatskog glumišta) for Best Dance Performance in its entirety.
