Beginning in the Executive Room, a gallery representative will welcome guests with a toast, followed by a hosted tour by artist Lynch throughout the hotel’s mezzanine level to speak to their various works.
This event will be approximately 90 minutes and will include a complimentary welcome glass of bubbly as well as light snacks. Limited number of spots available.
A leader in sourcing rare and important works by some of Canada’s most influential artists, Madrona’s current exhibition with the Oak Bay Beach Hotel is a focused collection of works by Brent Lynch, Rick Bond, Nicholas Bott, Collin Elder, and Shawn O’Keefe.
Brent Lynch is a B.C. based artist that is internationally recognized for his distinct approach to landscape painting. Lynch studied at the Vancouver School of Art and Design and the Langara College Fine Arts program. He would later spend a year in England at St. Martin’s School of Fine Arts, where he studied printmaking, painting and life drawing.
Lynch is recognized as one of Canada’s most notable designers and illustrators. He has worked on a broad range of projects, and been commissioned for numerous corporate and government collections, including the Royal Bank of Canada, IBM Canada, Nissan Japan, the 1988 Calgary Olympics, Nike International, the Smithsonian Museum, Tourism California, and many others. Since the 1990’s, Lynch has turned his attention to his own artwork. A master of light and composition, Lynch imbues an incredible sense of mood and place in all of his works. His paintings are held in private and public collections around the world.
