The musicians of the Ontario Chaffey Community Show Band and the Bescoby Family are proud to present "Hot Summer Nights" on Monday June 17, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be held at Gardiner W. Spring Auditorium located on the campus of Chaffey High School at 1245 N. Euclid Ave. in Ontario. The Woodwind Celebration Ensemble will present a pre-concert recital in the auditorium lobby at 7:00 p.m. Complimentary coffee and cookies will be served in the lobby prior to the concert. The performance is FREE to the public.

The June concert is highlighted by a diverse collection of music that features guest vocal soloists Jana "Gigi" Garner and Brian Detwiler, Show Band Trumpet soloist Steve Collins, and a very talented student dance troupe from the Inland Pacific Ballet.
"Gigi" Garner has been performing with a variety of music groups from contemporary church music to choirs to rock bands to jazz, swing, and blues. Her musical career also includes composing and producing short songs and videos for meditation, as well as original blues tunes. A former voice-over artist and radio announcer, Gigi enjoys a wide variety of musical styles and genres. She is the co-founder of the "T Street Band" who perform a mix of gritty, powerhouse blues, classic rock, soul, funk, as well as sweet breathy ballads and backing vocals. She also sings with "The Music Masters Big Band" in Upland, performing a variety of jazz, swing, jive, and torch songs from the 1920's-1960's. Her enthusiasm and joy make music shine through on stage. Gigi will entertain the Show Band audience with her vocal stylings on four hit songs from the 80's; "99 Red Balloons," "Down Under," "Pride," and "Wind Beneath My Wings."
Brian Detwiler has a long-term association with the Show Band. He has entertained Show Band audiences over several decades. Recently, Brian was the vocal soloist at the Memorial Day concert and returns to center stage to sing the Gershwin Brothers 1930 hit song "Embraceable You" and "Goin' Out of My Head," a hit song recorded by Little Anthony and the Imperials in 1964.
Talented Show Band musician Steve Collins will be featured on flugelhorn in a pretty ballad composed by Director Gabe Petrocelli entitled "Your Smile."
The Show Band is proud to welcome dancers from the Inland Pacific Ballet. The ballet company features an extensive K-12 Education Program entitled A Young Person's guide to the Ballet that is committed to the nurturing of new talent and providing an essential training ground for serious young dancers. The program is under the leadership of Executive and Artistic Director Zaylin Cano. The dancers will be featured in "Be Our Guest," "Pure Imagination," and "Arabian Nights."
The outstanding musicians of the Show Band will be highlighted on two concert selections entitled "Candide Suite, Movement 2" and "A Day In Branch Brook Park." The performance will be narrated by Assistant Superintendent of the Chaffey District Dr. Kern Oduro and Pastor Gary Keith.

Please be sure to join us for this exciting evening of music and do not forget to invite your family and friends!
