Sunday February 8, 2026 at 4pm, The HOT L Poets Series continues at Bird in Hand (Baltimore) with poets Rebecca Aronson & Wayne Miller!
The reading includes an open mic so bring a poem (1 poem, 3 min. or less).
Now in our eighth year, the reading series is the work of Smartish Pace and Baltimore Poets Theatre. Hosts: Clare Banks, David Yezzi, and Stephen Reichert.
Rebecca Aronson is the author of three books of poetry: Anchor, winner of the 2024 Poetry Award from the Philosophical Society of Texas and the 2024 Eric Hoffer Award for Poetry; Ghost Child of the Atalanta Bloom, winner of the 2016 Orison Books poetry prize and the 2019 Margaret Randall Book Award from the Albuquerque Museum Foundation; and Creature, Creature, winner of the Main-Traveled Roads Poetry Prize. She has been a recipient of a Prairie Schooner Strousse Award, the Loft’s Speakeasy Poetry Prize, a Tennessee Williams Scholarship to Sewanee, and a Yetzirah poetry fellowship. She is co-founder and host of Bad Mouth, a series of words and music.
Wayne Miller is the author of six poetry collections, most recently The End of Childhood (Milkweed, 2025). His awards include fellowships from the NEA and the Poetry Foundation, as well as the UNT Rilke Prize, two Colorado Book Awards, two Pushcart Prizes, six individual awards from the Poetry Society of America, the Bess Hokin Prize from Poetry, and a Fulbright to the Seamus Heaney Centre in Northern Ireland. He has co-translated two books by the Albanian writer Moikom Zeqo—most recently Zodiac (Zephyr, 2015)—and he has co-edited three books, most recently Literary Publishing in the Twenty-First Century (Milkweed, 2016). Wayne teaches at the University Colorado Denver, co-directs the Unsung Masters Series, and edits Copper Nickel.
