HOT KOMMUNIST is a brutal jazz punk band from Tallinn, Estonia. It was formed in 1996 by Lembit Krull, Andres Aru (formerly J.M.K.E.), and Lauri "Uims" Leis (Psychoterror, Vennaskond etc.). Since then, in the line up, Uims and Aru have been replaced by Finnish musicians: guitarist / backing vocalist Mikko Nissinen and drummer, JP Hautalampi. The band is known for its unique style of music, which blends elements of punk rock, jazz, and progressive rock. This fusion creates a sound that is both energetic and experimental, challenging traditional punk rock conventions.
