Join us on the first Friday of each month for a free open house at Pittsburgh Glass Center! Bring the whole family to experience exciting narrated glassblowing and flameworking demonstrations in our studios, browse handmade glass art gifts in our retail shop, and explore the contemporary glass exhibition in our Hodge Gallery. This month's Hot Jam will feature visiting glass artists Chris Giordano and Hoseok Youn. Chris currently resides in Corning, New York where he is a full-time independent artist and owner of GIOSTUDIO Glass. Hoseok is currently a studio lead and educator at Belger Art Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
In the gallery, step into an immersive art experience with Myth-Science of the Gatekeepers, a multimedia installation featuring 16 life size statues of Black queer Kemetic deities, created by Rainbow Serpent, a Black LGBTQ arts collective led by Marques Redd and Mikael Owunna.
All ages are welcome.
