Let your imagination take flight in this vibrant fused glass workshop, where colour, creativity, and a little bit of magic come together! Guided by the wonderfully talented Kaylene of Sandy Beach Studio, you’ll spend a joyful morning crafting your very own glass birds and butterfly sun catchers - sparkling creations designed to dance in the light.
🌈 Kaylene is a Russell Island-based Hot Glass Artist with over 20 years of experience in jewellery and glass sculpture. Her work draws inspiration from her North Queensland roots - the reef, rainforest, and tropical colour palette are woven through every piece. Her workshops are uplifting, welcoming, and overflowing with colour and creativity.
🦋 In this uplifting 2-hour session, you will:
Create one fused glass sun catcher in the shape of birds or butterflies
Learn how to safely cut, layer, and arrange glass to form beautiful patterns and wing designs
Play with colour, sparkle, and shape to design your own one-of-a-kind pieces
You’ll have access to a gorgeous range of glass materials, including:
Glass frit – crushed glass ranging from soft powder to chunky colour pops
Stringers – fine coloured rods perfect for feathers, details, and accents
Glass caviar – tiny sparkling beads that catch the light beautifully
Pre-cut glass shapes ready for decorating - ideal for beginners
