Join the group for lunch at Aww Shucks Gourmet Fire Roasted Corn.
The wife and husband team, Avrie and Phillip, love eating healthy and getting creative with corn. They started a food truck in 2020 and then opened the Avondale storefront in 2023, and it has been a big hit. They keep coming up with new options, but they are known most for their varieties of flavored corn on the cob.
They also have an amazing hot bar, where everything is fresher and more flavorful than anything you’d find at a meat-and-three. They have a rotating choice of green beans, cabbage, squash, rice and beans, sweet potatoes, spaghetti, cornbread or roll, etc. We are always happy with what they offer on any given day. And, yes, they also have great cornbread!
The restaurant is totally vegetarian and a great spot for vegans. The 100% vegan cob flavors include Deep-fried Cajun Cob, Everything Cob, Garlic Herb Parmesan, Buffalo Ranch, BBQ Ranch, Lemon Rosemary, Veggie Garden Parmesan, and plain with plant-based butter. The “parmesan” is vegan, as is the herbaceous ranch, which is house-made with fresh seasonings.
They also have potato bakers that can be made vegan.
