Back by popular demand is the Hospital Hero Hike, an exciting challenge for individuals, teams and groups looking to have a rewarding and fun day out. Proudly sponsored by Pickering Electronics and Panther Security.This picturesque route takes you on a countryside walk through Suffolk and Essex, passing beautiful historic locations and walking side-by-side with our amazing Hospital Heroes.
The 21* mile route will start at Colchester Hospital and finish at Ipswich Hospital.
Challenge yourself this autumn and take care of your friends and family when they need you most.
We would love for you to fundraise at our Hospital Hero Hike to support patients and staff when they need us most. When somebody you love is in hospital or having treatment, you want to be sure that they have everything they need for health and healing.
You can choose to fundraise for one of our current appeals: Butterfly Appeal, Cancer Wellbeing, Radiotherapy, Staff Wellbeing or for the ward or department within our services closest to your heart. Just let us know your preference when you sign up.
Tickets are £20 per person or £10 per person for ESNEFT staff, ESNEFT students, ESNEFT volunteers and OCS/Sodexo Staff.

Time: The walk begins at 9am
The Walk: From Colchester Hospital to Ipswich Hospital
Entry Fee: £20 per person or £10 for ESNEFT staff, ESNEFT students, ESNEFT volunteers and OCS/Sodexo Staff
Age: Participants must be 14+. Participants aged 14-17 will need to be accompanied by an adult at all times during the event, this includes the full duration of the route.
Entry Includes: Hospital Hero t-shirt at registration and a finishers medal on completion
Fundraising target for Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity: We would love for you to raise as much as possible, however the fundraising target is set at £100. Your fundraising makes a vital difference to health and healing.
£52.62 Could provide a bereaved family with a grief journal and a memory box to help create and keep precious and lasting memories of their baby and support their healing journey.
£89.31 Could provide a calming space and a listening ear to people faced with a life-limiting illness and keep our butterfly centre open for half a day.
£131.28 Could support the mental health of children and adults diagnosed with and living with cancer by funding a week of restorative swimming sessions.
*Due to circumstance beyond our control, the route may need to be altered at short notice which may results in a shorter or longer route.
