REGISTRATIONS BEGIN NOVEMBER 1, 2024When Daniel and Tonya Ashworth moved to their Springfield home in 2020, they found a lot of room for improvement in their new yard. In this presentation, Daniel shows the steps he and Tonya took to transform their yard to be more appropriate for their historic home, to be more Florida-friendly and the lessons they have learned along the way. The presentation will include a discussion of the design process—and the unexpected disappointments and surprise successes.
Daniel Ashworth is a landscape architect and urban planner with more than 20 years of experience; he currently works for GAI Consultants’ Community Solutions Group. He is a graduate of Mississippi State University and the University of Pennsylvania, and prior to moving to Jacksonville in 2020, Daniel had lived and worked in Memphis, Orlando, and Philadelphia. He is married to Tonya Ashworth, who is the UF|IFAS environmental horticulture agent for Duval County, and they live in Springfield with their daughter, Nyssa. Locally, Daniel has been involved with downtown redevelopment and the Emerald Trail LaVilla Link.
The program is free and open to the public, but registration is required so the Garden Club knows how many chairs to provide. We appreciate your help!
