Whether you're just new to taking care of a horse, taking your horse from iron shoes to barefoot life, or already a seasoned horse owner that wants to do better for their horse: knowing something about hoof health is part of our responsibility as a horse person and a crucial part of improving your horse's well-being!But it can be quite challenging and overwhelming - where do you start? What is fact, what is opinion, what is hype or trend or wisdom??
Let me help you get started with basic hoof knowledge and basic hoof care ánd some easy trimming skills to be able to tend to the hooves in between professional visits. Even if you don't plan to do the trimming yourself, it is super valuable to know what to look for to decide how your hooves are doing. And if you want to start doing some trimming, it is extra important that you know the theory and can make choices that actually help your horse.
This late summer, I offer 2 weekend-courses at my lovely place in Alunda, where we talk theory, practice, tips and tricks, special cases and specific questions. We will also take a walk on my horse's track system to see how lifestyle influences hoof, body and mental health.
The course is open for anyone that is interested in hoof care - the level and topics of the day depend on the participants and horses that join as teachers.

- Bring your own horse and learn to trim his/her hooves! (2 horses needed for the course to continue)

- More opportunity to try it out yourself with close guidance from me
- Also suitable for people that already trim their own horse’s hooves and want fresh input!
