Thorns. Teeth. Traps! Join us on Tuesday, October 28 at 6:30 p.m. at the Castine Center at Pelican Park to explore horror vibes in nature and see them reflected in entertainment. We’ll highlight parallels between the horror genre and the natural world using examples of species & environments found in Louisiana. And you’ll leave with resources and inspiration to explore the natural world through a different lens, as well as an appreciation for a genre which helps us experience and confront our fears. The talk is appropriate for general audiences. Relevant horror films will be referenced, but there will not be shocking, gory, or otherwise inappropriate visuals. Children aged 10+ are welcomed but must be accompanied by an adult.
Speaker Jessica McDaniel is a Librarian, Certified Master Naturalist, and lover of the odd, weird, and interesting. She coordinates horror programming for adults at the East Baton Rouge Parish Library’s Main Library at Goodwood.
