The Hornell Area Salvation Army Food Pantry & Ministry Center located at 95 Seneca Street is seeking volunteers and community partners this holiday season. We are looking for partners in Bell Ringing, adopting families, providing gifts, food and financial donations to help us continue our critical work in the Hornell area and surrounding communities. This year, our goal is to raise $40,000 to support our year-round efforts to assist the most vulnerable members of our community.
Did you know that here in Steuben County:
- 26.1% of households struggle to make ends meet, even though many are employed.
- 30.2% of these households are female-headed, with children present.
- 11,812 individuals live in poverty in our county alone.
By Volunteering or donating with us and becoming a sponsor for this year’s Red Kettle Campaign, you can help us reach our fundraising goal.
100% of the donations we raise stay local to make a difference right here in Hornell.
In addition to volunteers, we are collecting donations of toys, clothing, and financial support for our Angel Tree program, which serves families and children up to the age of 12. Your contributions will help brighten the holiday season for children in need. The deadline for toy and clothing donations is December 13th, 2024.
We are also preparing holiday meals for families in need, but we will only be receiving 75 turkeys and sides to feed our local families. To expand this effort, we are looking for donations of turkeys, hams, and side dishes to provide even more families with a warm, festive meal this holiday season. Any contributions of food items would be greatly appreciated.
Additionally, we are introducing a digital Red Kettle, where individuals can simply scan a QR code to donate. If you’d like to host this digital option, we can provide all the necessary materials.
