About this Event
Losing a loved one to suicide is complicated, can be traumatic and can be difficult to navigate. Some people, after some time, feel a desire to help others after experiencing such a loss.
We invite you to come to Horizons at any time in your journey. Horizons is an informal space where people with lived experience can offer a beacon of light, hope and comfort to those more recently bereaved. This can make an incredible difference to the givers and the receivers and can help people know that they are not alone.
Horizons provides a safe and natural space and is more informal than the facilitator/therapeutic approach of our one-on-one counselling or our Waves group. These groups offer a community support environment.
Papamoa group is on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, 10am to 11:30am at Papamoa Community Centre, 15 Gravatt Road, Papamoa. Tauranga group is on the 3rd Tuesday of the month, 6pm to 7:30pm at Grief Support Services, 147 Chadwick Road, Greerton, Tauranga.
If you would like to talk to our Coordinator, Andrea Clark, about our groups held in Greerton and Papamoa, we would love to hear from you. This community group is one you can attend regularly or drop in at the time you feel the need.
