JANUARY 10TH!!!!It’s a big moment for Intoxicated Zen. We’ve been at this thing for almost 7 years now, trying our best to create fun and exciting moments for anyone willing to share in the festivities. I can personally say that it’s been one of the most beautiful, fulfilling experiences of my life. Of course, in the band’s infancy I had hopes that we might conquer the music world. That didn’t exactly happen. But, as you get older, perspectives change, and I realize now that the band has always been exactly what I needed it to be.
Now, as things evolve, we’re entering a new phase of the experience. Unfortunately, part of that evolution is a physical distance which makes continuing as we have… virtually impossible. So, where does that leave us?
January 10th at 123 Pleasant Street couldn’t have worked out better. The date wasn’t booked for this purpose, but as it happens, that will be the last weekend during which all members will still be living in or near Morgantown, West Virginia. The show could be branded as a “farewell”, as it’s not exactly clear if/when we’ll see you again. But, with love and hope in our hearts, we’ve decided to go a different route. So, we offer: New HoriZens.
Perhaps down the road, we’ll find ourselves back together on stage, or in the studio recording something new. Again, speaking personally, I’ll always cherish any opportunity to make music with this group of musicians as part of this project. But, for now, it’s goodbye, and there’s absolutely no better or more appropriate place to say our “until-next-times” than 123 Pleasant Street, where it basically all started.
Thank you all so much for your support. Anyone reading this has probably been a part of the story in some way, and we’re eternally grateful. So, come celebrate, enjoy some tunes from us and friends, and keep on groovin’☯️
