About Hopkins Public Schools Kindergarten
Welcome to Kindergarten at Hopkins Public Schools
In Hopkins, we believe in creating a better world by inspiring all students to reach their full potential. When students feel heard, seen, and valued, they can do their very best work.
Hopkins promises an educational experience for students ages 0-21 that prepares them to succeed in our increasingly complex, rapidly changing world. Our students are recognized as global scholars who work collaboratively, disrupt the status quo, and solve some of the world’s most complex problems. They are the best and brightest citizens of tomorrow. Together, we are creating a better world by inspiring each student to reach their full potential.
Inclusive school community
Your 2025-26 Hopkins kindergartener will discover an inclusive school community where empathy, collaboration, and kindness are encouraged. They will develop creativity, confidence, and strong social relationships through play-based exploration of academic concepts, built around their interests. Our teachers focus on your child’s academic and social-emotional success so they are fully prepared to be lifelong confident, empathetic, global learners.
Transforming learning
Hopkins Public Schools is a nationally recognized public school district serving approximately 7,200 students. The district includes six elementary schools (gr. K-5), two middle schools (gr. 6-8), one high school (gr. 9-12), and one K-12 online school with a blended learning option.
In Hopkins, you’ll find a rigorous academic curriculum and an inclusive school community that enables every student to learn through trial and error, instilling confidence and creating opportunities for innovative thinking to emerge. When your child graduates in 2038, they will have key traits that we believe will set them apart from their peers and set them up for 21st century success. We use a personalized learning approach to our curriculum so our students are able to pursue their interests and strengthen their skills and talents.
Hopkins Public Schools serves the City of Hopkins, as well as portions of Minnetonka, Eden Prairie, Edina, Plymouth, St. Louis Park, and Golden Valley. We also welcome students from all Minnesota communities through open enrollment.
