On October 25 join the London and District Labour Council and community allies for a Solidarity Rally at 1130am on the North West corner of Victoria Park to send a clear message that we stand together powerfully to affirm the message "Hope not Hate: Everyone is Welcome Here."A far right group called “Canada First” is attempting to gather in London at Victoria Park on October 25. They seek to spread vicious hate, and conspiracies about immigrants. This far-right group, that looks to UK fascist Tommy Robinson for inspiration, is promoting “remigration” which is a call for mass deportation of people of non-European or non-Christian descent. It is a hate agenda and destructive for democracy and the principles of inclusion and social justice.
Failed government policies are driving the housing and affordability crises in the country. Far-right groups like Canada First wrongly claim that immigration has caused these crises. We reject attempts to divide us and shift the blame. And we oppose those government policies that create the ground which the far-right is trying to build on.
In the past, when far right groups have tried to visibly organize in London, we have successfully defeated them. We must stand up to oppose this agenda and to affirm our message: "Hope not Hate: Everyone is welcome Here."
This is part of a growing threat around the world from the far-right. On October 25th, bring your flags, placards, banners and energy – join us to oppose hate and to mobilize together in solidarity. Let's fight back!
