Yet, we know what is causing these problems and have many of the solutions. Hear from scientists, legal and health professionals, First Nations leaders and environmental campaigners on the interconnected consequences and solutions, as well as how we can all take collective action.
The evening will include four 'power panels' - forests, oceans, socioecological systems, and solutions.
Confirmed speakers: Dr Gretta Pecl (Director of the Centre for Marine Socioecology @ the University of Tasmania), Ruth Langford (First Nations leader) Dr Jess Melbourne-Thomas (Lead of Marine Socio-ecological Systems Team in the Sustainable Marine Futures Program @ CSIRO), Dr Clare Smith (medical doctor, climate advocate @ Tasmanian Climate Coalition), Dr Jen Sanger (Forest ecologist @ Tree Projects), Vanessa Bleyer (conservation lawyer, candidate for Australian senate), Virginia Young (long-time environmental campaigner, Director @ Wilderness Australia), Alice Hardinge (Campaigns Manager @ The Wilderness Society Tasmania), and Hughie Nicklason (Grassroots campaigner).
