In support of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, I’m excited to host the first Hope Beyond Hurt 5K.Domestic abuse touches more lives than we often realize—maybe someone you know has been a victim, maybe they are still suffering, or maybe you don’t know that you know anyone because they’ve been too afraid to speak out. This run/walk is a chance to come together in honor of those affected, to support survivors, and to raise awareness about this pervasive and heartbreaking issue.
Join us as we run, walk, or move in solidarity—because together, we can bring hope beyond hurt.
As a domestic abuse survivor myself, who has chosen to keep her story mostly quiet still after all these years, that doesn't mean that our unspoken stories don't matter or aren't true. It matters. I matter. You matter.
Registration is $25 and includes a commemorative shirt—worn together, it will symbolize our unity, support, and presence for survivors of domestic abuse. There will also be a bib with your racing number on it. This is, however, a free event and registration is not required, feel free to wear your own shirt in support of the cause; purple is a good color for this event ;)
We will start at Patton Park and walk the Oklawaha Parkway until a certain point, then circle back around to finish back at Patton park at the end. This is a very casual event, the point of it is to just get together as a community and show our heart and support for each other.
I hope to see you there!
