Through performances, hands-on activities, and cooking demonstrations, your whole family will have the opportunity to experience a variety of ways we see and celebrate Latino culture today.
Enjoy lunch at the Stardust Terrace Cafe while listening to the sounds of local band Alboroto. Follow your nose to Lilly Hall at 12:30, where Ivone Razzino will make a recipe from her home country of Colombia in a special Flavors of the Heartland – don’t forget to grab a copy of the recipe to try at home!
Take a break in the Frank and Katrina Basile Theater to watch the recent documentary production of Beyond el Barrio: Early Cultural Contributions to the City of Indianapolis, Seen and Unseen. Don’t miss the final showing of the day at 3 p.m., which will be followed by a lecture and conversation with documentary director and IHS Multicultural Collections Curator Nicole Martinez-LeGrand.
Activities will end at 4 p.m.; museum exhibits will remain open until 5 p.m.
