Here’s everything you need to know before you roll in with your best BBQ:
Already Cooked, Please!
All meat must be fully cooked before you arrive. No on-site cooking allowed — we love the smell of BBQ, but this event is for tasting, not tending the smoker.
Be on Time
All entries must be ready to present by 10:00 AM sharp. Judging starts immediately after, and we don’t want your masterpiece to miss the spotlight.
Bring Your Best
Categories are: Pulled Pork, Ribs, Chicken, and Brisket (optional). You can enter one or all — but go all in on flavor!
Presentation Matters
We’ll provide plates/containers for judging. Garnish is optional (parsley or lettuce only if you use it). Make it look as good as it tastes.
Keep it Clean
Gloves or utensils must be used when handling food. No bare hands on the meat that’s going to judges. Keep your area neat — wipe down surfaces and dispose of trash.
Food Safety First
Hot foods must be kept above 140°F until turn-in.
Cold foods (sides, sauces, etc.) must be kept below 40°F.
Use a food thermometer if you’re unsure. Judges love safe BBQ!
How We Judge
Scores are based on Appearance, Taste, and Tenderness. Highest score in each category wins, plus an overall BBQ Master title.
The Fine Print
By entering, you agree to the rules and to have a good time — win or lose, we’re here for the food and fun!
