Calling all girls and boys ages 8 to 13. Step up to the line for the Hoop Shoot - Free Throw Contest, sponsored by Buckeye Elks Lodge, Saturday, November 15, 2025. Estimated time of the event will be from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm, depending on the number of contestants. The contest will be held at Westpark Elementary School, located at 2700 S 257th Dr, Buckeye, AZ 85326.
The Elks Hoop Shoot is a free throw contest for kids ages 8 to 13. The program is free to all contestants and provides the youth with an opportunity to compete, connect, and succeed through hard work and healthy competition.
If you are a student who is interested in participating, registration will be from 8:15 - 8:45 am. There are three age groups: 8-9 year olds, 10-11 year olds, and 12-13 year olds. We will begin the contest with the 8-9 year olds at 9:00 am. The 9-10 year olds will begin after the completion of the 8-9 year old age group. The 12-13 year olds will begin after the completion of the 9-10 year old age group. There will be one boy and one girl winner from each age group. Each contestant will shoot 25 free throws and the winner will be determined by the most free throws made.
ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES:
• If the contestant will be age 8 or 9 on April 1, 2026, she/he shoots in the 8 to 9 age-group.
• If the contestant will be age 10 or 11 on April 1, 2026, she/he shoots in the 10 to 11 age group.
• If the contestant will be age 12 or 13 on April 1, 2026, she/he shoots in the 12 to 13 age-group.
• If the contestant will be age 14 on April 1, 2026, she/he is too old to participate.
You must provide proof of age (birth certificate or passport NEEDS to be shown at hoop shoot contest on Saturday, November 15th or the child will not be able to participate)
